ETL Student Organization

September 2007

Hello everyone-

I would like to welcome everyone to the fall semester and introduce myself, Hedy Lowenheim, the President of the ETL student organization. Other officers include Joy Gayler, VP of Communications; and Beth Hughes, Facilitator of Educational Topics. Joy is responsible for the e-newsletter and web-related tasks and Beth assists with coordination of education-related events.

I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that the ETL student organization, ETLSO, is still in existence or introduce you to the ETLSO if you are not familiar with it.

The ETLSO has been in existence for four years. We put out newsletters during the semester and conduct chats and interviews on topics pertinent to ETL students. Since the ETL program is entirely on-line, we feel that the organization adds a sense of community and value to the program for ETL students. Since this is your student organization we are very open to input from any of you; in fact, we encourage feedback and/or any suggestions. We have provided these links for you to become a member of the ETLSO or update your email address.

The next topic for discussion is the open ETLSO officer positions that we are in the process of trying to fill. We recognize that most of us are very over extended with our various commitments, personal and professional. These ETLSO positions will not take up a huge amount of your time. I think you will find volunteering for the organization a worthwhile experience.  If you are interested in any ETLSO positions or would like more information please contact Joy Gayler or myself.

Please feel free to also recommend a classmate for any of the open positions; I am sure they will be honored!
